It seems that almost everytime I get on my BX and reach for the seatbelt, it is stuck under the seat. Kubota should have supplied a longer rigid "nest" to hold the male end and prevent this occuring. As it is, when you release the belt, it just flops around and sticks under the raised seat. Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me? Any suggestions?
JD

Good one!! I find that most seat belts don't have a proper base to support them. I also find that the bulk of the time, I know it's wrong I'm not using them but often I'm only on them for a few minutes. When I know I'm going to be there I do use them but I often have difficulty with them and I would not limit the problem to the BX only! ....

I would agree with Art almost all tractor manufactures have spent zero funds on seat belt ease of use.
When the NA car manufactures have only considered it in the last few years we may have a while to wait. ....

JD, you have inadvertently hit on a serious short coming on Kubota's part. Kubota's seat belts are in violation of the American's with Disabilities Act. Tractor owners who suffer from "Golden Arches Disease" (GAD) also known as "Big Macitis" or Quarter Pounder Syndrome or just generally "Caloricly Challenged" have had great difficulty with the Kubota's excessively short seatbelt lengths which do not accomodate the "Full Figured" tractor guy. ;o)

Seriously though, you may want to take a look at other brands of seat belt kits. I have not had any problems with the seat belts on my 4410 and there is plenty of seat belt length to accomodate even the most "well fed" operators. The belt retracts out of the way when released and is user friendly to relatch. I think a good bit of the problem you speak of may be related to the spacing of the seat belt receptable in proximity to the seat and how much belt is left hanging out of the retractor. ....

I have not tried the new 10 series, sound like JD has improved the situation but I certainly have the same problems with my JD 955 and 4XXX.

I guess if I get to the point that I need to extend the belt I would wondering if I shouldn't be pulling the tractor. ....

Now that's the spirit Eric! ;o) Good one! LOL!!! I knew someone would appreciate my seat belt humor. I am not to the point of needing the seatbelt extension although the holiday season goodies are taking their toll. I can't imagine that????? I can still get into a pair of size 38 Wranglers (relaxed fit of course!;o). ....

Ask the Kubota dealer to throw in a 27 foot ratchet strap with a 10,000 pound working limit (just to be on the safe side). Then use the strap instead of the seatbelt. ....
